2010, was a tumultous year for CAAPS. The most daunting aspect of doing business was the lack of funding that CAAPS experienced due to external influences such as the economy and some agencies that fear us and tried to keep us quiet. Despite some set backs Caaps still manage to:
- Match approximately 30 people with legal counsel. (6 cases were resolved favorably; the rest are still pending).
- Expand our volunteer base from 2 people to several people
- Successfully cultivate several whistelblowers in governement and law enforcement to keep us informed of abuse
- Monitor, write about, a couple of high profile cases that were published on our news column
- Monitor and spread public awareness about several local and national events on 3 different news sites to continue expanding our presence
- Gather information and maintain investigations into 3 municipalities and their officials (still active, ongoing)
- Establish fee based immigration services
- Investigate alternative means of revenue generation
- Make connections with some key Media personnel, and rights activists
- Launch our new, revamped website
